Hello! I’m Julie Fairclough, Personal Fitness Trainer and Level 2 Endurance Running Coach for Stockport Harriers and Bramhall Runners and Personal Trainer for Bioticfit Fitness and Health Bootcamp in Manchester.
“My passion in life is keeping fit and encouraging others to keep fit, get fit, yoga, pilates and encouraging healthy eating habits.
Ten years ago, some work colleagues asked me to start running with them during our lunch hour. I hated it! But after a slow start, I gradually built up to running 5 miles and found myself addicted to that feel good factor feeling it gave me. Since then I completed many 5ks, 10ks, half marathons as well as two full marathons. For my own fitness, I also enjoy yoga for relaxation, pilates, core stability exercises for my posture and strength and have tried music based dance classes for fun!
I have also taken part in duathlons and triathlons, enjoying the different styles of fitness training required, especially after seeing improvements in my swimming! I went from not being able to complete one length of the pool front crawl to open water swimming at the freezing Bala Lake and Boundary Park, Cheshire.
I have coached a mixed endurance group of runners at Stockport Harriers for two years and have set up my own Run England recognised running club, Bramhall Runners plus I have coached two athletes to qualify for the Duathlon World Championships in Gijon this year.
